TAS Schäfer

TAS Schäfer was established in 1961 and is located in Wigan, Germany. TAS is a well-known manufacturer of locking products, including expansion sleeves, couplings, mechanical locking discs, hydraulic locking discs, industrial buffers, friction springs, etc. It has 31 employees and a sales revenue of 11 million euros. The company only produces in Germany (75% of its products are exported to foreign countries) and has always occupied the market for hydraulic locking discs.

TAS Schäfer products are widely used in industries such as conveyor drives, packaging machinery, presses, textile machinery, powder mills, wire rope reels, control rods, and gears.

Customers include VESTAS, Winergy, ZF, NGC, GE, ABB, SIEMENS, Rexroth, Voith, Andritz, Denmark etc..

TAS Schäfer coupling features:

1. Using a pressure ring/pressure flow

Due to the use of pressure rings, force and torque are directly transmitted between the shaft and flange. The achievable jumping accuracy is higher than the internal clamping system.

2. Tightening torque of clamping screws

When using different pressure rings and shaft diameters, the tightening torque and clamping force can be adjusted.

3. Positioning

The cylindrical shaft connection and clearance fit allow for easy and positioned flanges at both ends of the shaft. During the clamping process, there were no moving shafts.

4. Short length

The design of clamping the pressure ring through the flange surface provides a short installation length, as no additional space is required behind the coupling.

5. No hydraulic pressure required

There is no need to install hydraulic expansion hubs.

6. No heating required

There is no need to expand the hub through heating. A slight heating of the hub may increase the gap between the shaft and flange.

7. Keyway of shaft

Couplings can be used on shafts with keyways. Key channels should be closed as much as possible.
